Mini masterclass on modern procurement

Here's my mini masterclass on modern procurement.

Warning: it requires work.

The playbook:

Spend a significant amount of your time building relationships with colleagues (they're your customers).

Understand what they buy, how, when, where, and why.

Gather all the information related to those and take the work off their plate. Partner with them, proactively.

That means aggregating all the data so that it's easily digestible and you can make better business decisions from it... early renewals, add'l licenses, and so on.

They shouldn't have to worry about a thing.

You're job is to offer exceptional service for the vendors they use to do their jobs... to drive innovation & growth.

Work internally with cross-functional stakeholders... legal, infosec, finance, etc., and share what you have, all of it.

Together, take care of your customers (colleagues).

Build a deeply connected ecosystem so that when people want to buy, it's seamless, easily understood, and people are looking forward to work with you.

You should do this each and every day.
It takes constant maintenance and upkeep.
Because buying on behalf of a business changes.

Your goal:

Bring together the inputs to deliver the outputs.

Build better buying cultures.
