My quick thoughts about procurement the past 12 mths.

2025 was a 'figuring it out' year.

Practitioners were flooded with AI, almost drowning.

Procuretech vendors and procurement conferences & events led with an agentic narrative... all.year.long.

• Hard to ignore

• Hard to understand

• Easy to see why

• 
  

AI is being built, infused, and used to increase productivity and everyone is figuring it out. 

Practitioners shared stories, use cases, wants & needs.

Largely, because they're being asked to incorporate new technology into their work, many are still figuring it out.

• Some haven't started

• Some are experimenting

• Others are thriving

What's crystal clear is that change is happening and it's undeniable.

But what I'm seeing is that those practitioners that cut through the noise, continue to question, and stay ahead of the curve… will thrive.

They ARE modern procurement.

Let's call them "figure it out-ers."
