My boss’s boss slacked me.

“Can you come to the conference room?”

“Sure, on my way.”

I grabbed my laptop and water.

The entire C-suite was in the room. Every Monday at 10am, they had their executive meeting.

I took a breath and entered.

“Hey everyone.”

“Mat, can you pull up that dashboard you created?”

“Of course.”

I plugged in my computer and displayed it on the big screen.

“Can you walk us through this?”

“No problem. Any specific parts?”

“All of it.”

I dug in.

I shared that the dashboard was built on a no-code tool. The data was aggregated from a spend file, vendor database, and deals thru the daily flows. We tracked vendor information, cost, savings, criticality, contracts, approvals, cycle times, and more, all in one location.

“This is so helpful, I’ve never seen our spend like this.”

“Mat, how do I get a copy of this?”

“I’ll send you a link. It’s live data,” I said.

“Live?”

“Yeah, we’re working with real-time data. We’re updating and maintaining it so we have a better understanding of spend across the Org.”

“Please send that link to everyone here,” the CEO said.

I sent it in two clicks. “Done.”
